We are conveniently located in the green leafy outskirts of Boma in Fort Portal, within walking distance from the market, town centre and golf course. The guest house is a comfortable, (child) friendly place, where you can meet visitors from all over the world. Guests meet at the large dinner table in the lounge, where we serve a great breakfast and evening dinners. In the morning our yummy banana pancakes are very popular as are the cheese, jams, bacon and eggs. Our home-cooked meals are a blend of flavours from around the world. We serve tasty vegetarian and vegan dishes and cater to special culinary needs. Children love our food, especially the soups. Filtered drinking water is provided in the rooms and with meals.

Family stay.

“This is a very nice place to stay. It is informal and relaxed but well organized. It is a good value for money. The location is quiet and peaceful. It is a good place to meet with other engaging interesting travelers.” margaret232015, County Cork, Ireland

One of the highlights of my Uganda tour

“What a delicious surprise! One of the joys of doing an intensive trip round a country- without a fixed itinerary- is unearthing gems like Rwenzori View Guest House. Also, it reminds you of how little correlation there is between price and quality/satisfaction.

Definitely, in its price category, this guest house wins hands down, but it also scores most highly across all price categories. I could have happily spent hours in the garden and days exploring Fort Portal, which must be Uganda’s most civilized town. And to top it all, the owners have access to the best (and best value) masseuse I have been to in a very long time.” NYorkmoors, London, United Kingdom

Ruwenzori View Guest House is a social enterprise.

Since the beginning in 1997 we have been supporting local artists. We are known for selling high quality locally made crafts at an affordable price. Our crafts include handwoven baskets made with natural dyes, a wide variety of greetings cards and postcards, and our trademark ‘boda-boda’ bicycles, clocks, 3D boxes and pick ups – all depicting the real Ugandan life. Craft sales benefit the community directly through five local women’s groups. Visitors to RuwenZori View Guest House love to take these high quality products home to friends and family and thus support the more than 100 women basket-weavers and their households.

We have been working for more than 20 years with women groups in Kabarole District who weave beautiful naturally coloured baskets. We have organised training in shaping new basket designs and creating new colours for the weaving materials. The training also included how to start a saving and credit group.
