The Observatory has been created to put nature first. This is reflected in the architecture and the seamless way in which nature and design coexist.
Sleeping arrangements
The Observatory now has two houses, the upper house and the lower house. The upper house (pictured) here can comfortably sleep six guests in three bedrooms:
- 1 queen bed
- 2 single beds
- 2 single bunk beds
- (The lounge area can be converted into a sleeping area on request).
- There are two bathrooms.
The new lower house sleeps two people (although an extra bed can be added for a child).

Activities from The Observatory
The Observatory is an excellent base for exploring Queen Elizabeth National Park, whether you are going on a game drive to see lions, or taking the safari boat ride along the Kazinga Channel or tracking the chimpanzees at Kyambura Gorge. However, you don’t need to go far to take in the stunning Rift Valley scenery. A few of the activities that we can arrange include:
- Crater Trek $5 per hour
- Nature walks around the Rift Valley $5
- Village walk / cultural walk $5
- Massage 70,000 UGX per hour
- Swimming 35,000 UGX 30 minutes
How much is it to stay at The Observatory?
The Observatory costs $70 per adult per night and $50 per child.
