Gallery Antique Uganda specialises in tribal art sculptures, masks, old beadwork and pottery
Inspiration
“My name is Joe Nixon Ndyanabangi. I have been a dealer of tribal African art and antiquities for 20 years now and specialise in arts from the Congo, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya and South Sudan but also minimum artefacts from Rwanda and Burundi.
I found myself growing an interest in this trade as a result of my collections and developed a passion for tribal art after curating a contemporary art gallery – Tulifanya Gallery – for 12 years and owning three shops in Uganda. After a while I decided to specialise in old, authentic, field-collected pieces which I sell to reputable collectors and international dealers.
Over the years of my field trips, we have accumulated quite a collection. I am still thrilled by my extensive network of local field collectors in the region – Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and the Congo – and the beautiful artworks they sometimes find. We are not perfect but we strive to do the best we can and believe we offer the finest tribals arts there are on the market.
You can view or buy our genuine African antiquities online here. Or, for those who are curious enthusiasts, collectors or dealers, you are welcome to telephone us to view our humble gallery and showroom on Gayaza Road, eight miles from Kampala city centre.” Scroll to the top of the page for contact details for Gallery Antique Uganda.
